No.35 is the home and studio of designer/maker ali Stringell.
ali exhibits a collection of contemporary jewellery, silverware, ornaments, sculptures & new drawings in ink & charcoal. She works primarily in fine silver, creating vessels and forms, combined with knitted silver wire, feathers, handmade papers and other unexpected elements. Trained as a theatre designer at The Slade School, ali has turned her interest in the magic of the theatre, to working with precious metals. She continues to illustrate costumes and characters in pencil, ink & charcoal.
ali works and exhibits from her studio in Ditchling. She has also showcased with Handmade in Britain & Contemporary Applied Arts, London.
Meryl exhibits oil paintings inspired by the local Sussex landscape, still-life studies from her studio and flower paintings from her garden. In each painting, her main interest is colour and light on the subject.
Meryl exhibits regularly with the Francis Iles Gallery, Rochester, Kent and at ‘Flint’, Lewes.
