Designing luxury and bespoke jewellery since 1988, Pruden and Smith blend a history of goldsmithing with nature-inspired designs. Their gallery is located at the crossroads of the Arts and Crafts village of Ditchling. Expect rugged textures, unique patterns, and graceful curves – all handmade in their onsite workshop.
Creative Director Rebecca Smith draws much of her inspiration from the natural world, be it the raw beauty of gemstones, the organic contours of the Sussex landscape, or the gradual, natural erosion of the chalky cliffs of the Seven Sisters. Her Trap (Sussex Shore) Collection uses hammering techniques for a unique finish on each piece of jewellery, designed to embrace the irregularities of nature.
For this year’s May festival, Pruden and Smith are holding a special exhibition and workshop tour exploring their redesign process, featuring tools and samples that take you on a journey from design and make right through to the final finishing touches. Book via their website.
